GSAREICA LAUNCHES “SAY NO TO DRUG ABUSE” SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN AHEAD OF JUNE 26
The National Secretariat of the Ghana Students Association of Research, Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Creative Arts (GSAREICA) is proud to announce the commencement of a nationwide “Say No to Drug Abuse” Social Media Campaign in anticipation of 26th June, the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
This campaign comes at a critical time when drug abuse continues to pose a serious threat to the health, safety, and future of young people across Ghana. Increasing exposure, peer pressure, and misinformation have contributed to rising cases of substance abuse among students and youth, making it imperative for stakeholders to act decisively.
Purpose of the Campaign
The “Say No to Drug Abuse” campaign is designed to:

- Raise awareness about the dangers and long-term consequences of drug abuse
- Educate young people on making informed and responsible life choices
- Encourage a culture of discipline, productivity, and healthy living among students
- Promote open conversations around drug-related challenges and prevention
Goals of the Campaign
Through this initiative, GSAREICA seeks to:
- Reach thousands of young people across Ghana through engaging digital content
- Inspire behavioral change by sharing real-life stories, expert insights, and educational materials
- Empower students to become ambassadors against drug abuse within their schools and communities
- Strengthen collective action among youth-led organizations in the fight against substance abuse
Campaign Activities
The campaign will run primarily across major social media platforms, featuring:
- Awareness graphics and short videos
- Educational posts and interactive discussions
- Testimonies and expert contributions
- Student-led advocacy content
As a culmination of this digital effort, GSAREICA will organize a Street Awareness Campaign, bringing the message directly to communities. This on-ground engagement will involve outreach activities, public sensitization, and direct interaction with the general public to reinforce the campaign’s message.
Call to Action
GSAREICA calls on all students, youth groups, educational institutions, and the general public to actively participate in this campaign. Together, we can build a drug-free society and safeguard the future of Ghana’s youth.
Let us stand united and boldly declare: Say No to Drug Abuse.
